As the heat rolls in this Summer and you're spending more time in your back yard remember how perfect wines can be for chillin' on the patio with some friends. Yes, that's right. Wine. Outside. In the hot sun. Now you may be thinking about that rich full bodied merlot you have in your wine rack while cringing in your seat thinking how sticky and heavy it would be to take outside. Rest assured that's not what we're talking about here. I'm talking about mellow, light, crisp, bubbly, easy to drink POUNDERS! Something you can drink and not wear your tongue out. Today starts a new series in the Vino blog: Patio Pounders! Each month this summer we will be featuring a wine with inclinations toward afternoon sipping in the shade. So without further a due... the Patio Pounder of the month:

Clean and crisp with hints of lemon, lime and apple. Nice floral notes smooth out the citrus, and it finishes with subtle vanilla and clove. This simple white is soft on the palate and refreshing on a hot day. Best served chilled. Pairs well with seafood, summer salads, pasta, poultry and shellfish.
Perfect Pairing:
Try it with the
Scallops - seared over sautéed gnocchi, peppers and onions, citrus butter sauce. A perfect pairing indeed!
